Scharpach Flattop
JUMBO
After having built so many Jumbo flattops, it was time to reconsider the acoustic design of a new Jumbo model. The voicing of the top is completely new, as well as that of the back, while still keeping a traditional X-bracing pattern to produce a traditional yet unique sound.
Every note on the fretboard is even across the entire range, from lows to highs, with the bell-like sustain and harmonics that are a distinguishing characteristic of all Scharpach guitars and seem to go on forever.
To create a spectrum of brilliance mixed with warmth at the same time, I chose Brazilian Rosewood (CITES) and German spruce. Both woods have been stocked by me for over 40 years. It took some time to find the correct tap tones for the top, tuned with back response.
I am so pleased with the final result of my new design. The guitar is easy to play with a 0.12 set of strings, and with time it will age and become even better.
