Some background to the design of this guitar:
“La Porta” is a guitar specially made for Al di Meola. The design is based on a story which Al told about his grandfather leaving Italy through an ancient door, hence: “La Porta”. The design of the headstock was taken from and inspired by the design of the ancient stone-decorated wooden door through which his grandfather departed.
